Wow! What a meet and what a great way to kick off the season! From warm up to the last event, this meet was amazing. You all came with a positive attitude which we know is infectious. Those who were nervous about their swims, channeled that energy, embraced it and used it to their advantage. Your enthusiasm and hard work really made our team stand about above the rest. Everyone showed their compassion and drive for swimming last night and I could not be prouder of each and everyone of you. The meet results and team scores are attached below.
Each meet the coaches chose a Swimmer & Diver of the meet (when applicable). This is an athlete we want to recognize for accomplishing something outstanding during the meet. The captains chose the Spirit of the meet. This is an athlete who is recognized for consistently cheering throughout a meet and maintaining an optimistic attitude.
Swimmer of the Meet: Erin Citerella! Erin told us during her goal meeting she wanted to break a minute in her 100 free this year. Her dedication and hard work this season has made that possible. Erin swam a 59.45 last night. Having achieved this at her first meet, I can’t wait to hear what her new goal will be! Erin, you are amazing!
Spirit of the Meet: Ella Mitchell! Though Ella was unable to swim in the meet, she still attended and spent the entire meet at the end of our lanes cheering on her team mates. Ella, thank you for being there for your team!
We would like to give a shout out to Katey Lewicki who achieved her Junior Nationals time in the 200 backstroke yesterday at CSI with a time of 2:00.81. Way to go Katey!
