Greeley Results 12/12/17

We have had yet another great meet! Most of the athletes competed in an event they have not ever swam. Some of our divers also performed dives that they have only attempted in practice. The final scores were:

Monarch: 179   Greeley: 136. Great job team!! The full results are below.

Swimmer of the Meet: Kacie Krasniewicz! Kacie stepped in and swam in the 200 free relay knowing that her 100 backstroke was to immediately follow. Kacie did an amazing job in both, swimming a fast 50 free in the relay to follow it up and swim her 100 back with even splits and taking 4th place over all.
Diver of the Meet: Tori Sylvester! On one of Tori’s early dives she hit the bottom of the pool with her feet, scraping off the tops of both. Tori looked at them shrugged and put her focus back in her diving. She was completely unfazed. To be able to have a performance not go as planned and then to be able to shrug it off and focus on the next one was amazing to watch. Tori did a fantastic job with the rest of dives, coming in 3rd out of 7.
Spirit of the Meet: Laura Zhang! Laura started cheering for everyone last week. Knowing the swimmers would be entered in events they do not normally swim she started giving pep talks at practice. She then entered the 500 free to swim with Sydney A since Sydney had never swam it. Laura continued to cheer and give pep talks for everyone though out the meet.
The Coaches Invite is this Saturday. This is a great meet to come watch some of the fastest swimmers in the Front Range. We have 11 athletes who will be competing, come cheer them on! Athletes can come on deck with the team, parents will be upstairs in the bleachers. Wear your MoHi team shirts. Swim Prelims start at 8:30AM, Dive Prelims start at 9:00AM. Finals will start at 4PM.
* When we leave for a meet I have given the AD a specific time for you to be excused. If you leave before that time and miss a class, you will be marked absent for that class. Yo are only excused from school after the time I have given.
* The school considers vaping a drug, if any athletes are caught vaping at anytime, they will be suspended from the team.
